William E. Summers V is a 26-year veteran of the banking financial industry. Currently he is Senior Vice President/Chief Community Development Officer at Republic Bank in Louisville, where he oversees the bank's corporate community engagement and philanthropic efforts.
Mr. Summers started his career in 1995 with Great Financial Bank and later worked at Jefferson Banking Company as an Assistant Vice President and later Vice President.
Jefferson Banking Company merged with Area Bank, which was eventually bought by BB&T. Mr. Summers discovered he enjoyed working for a community bank rather than a larger regional bank.
In 2004 Mr. Summers joined Old National Bank, a community bank headquartered in Evansville Ind., but new to Louisville. There, Mr. Summers focused on corporate relationships and got more deeply involved with community activities.
In 2005 Mr. Summers joined Central Bank of Jefferson County to start its private banking division. He was promoted to Senior Vice President overseeing retail banking and business development for the bank.
He joined Republic Bank in 2015.
Mr. Summers serves on various boards in the community. He is the immediate past Chairman of the Kentucky Housing Corporation and the immediate past Vice Chairman of the Louisville Arena Authority.
Mr. Summers is a member of the Westport Road Church of Christ. He earned his MBA from Bellarmine University. He has two children.
