Mr. Crawford began his career at KPPA in Investment Operations as an Investment Specialist in 2017 where he managed cash accounts, processed capital calls and distributions, and oversaw private equity asset managers. He contributed to KPPA's Annual Financial Report where he created, analyzed, and edited content for the Financial (Note D.) and Investment sections.
He began his tenure as the Assistant Director of Internal Audit and as the Investment Compliance Officer of KPPA in March of 2018. In these roles, he assisted the Division Director in overseeing internal audit functions and monitored investment portfolios and transactions for compliance with policies and procedures. As the Investment Research Analyst, he monitors existing investment mandates in terms of performance, attribution, exposures, risks, and compliance with strategy guidelines, and assists with reconciling fees paid. He also participates in negotiation, review, and completion of investment contracts.
He has a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in History from the University of Kentucky and a BA in Business Administration from Portland State University. He also holds a Master in Public Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), and is a PhD candidate in Public Administration with concentrations in Public Financial Management and Science and Technology Policy, also at UIC. While at UIC, he taught public budgeting; financial management; local government management; public policy; and statistics.
