Member Services is responsible for the counseling of all non-retired members of the Kentucky Public Pensions Authority (KPPA). Staff provides benefit estimates, service purchase calculations, and installment plan purchase agreements to members who visit KPPA’s office or make inquiry by other means; reviews members' eligibility and documentation to purchase service credit; processes Notifications of Retirement forms received in-office and through the mail; processes refunds of member accounts; collaborates with KPPA’s Employer Reporting staff to generate omitted billings for Health Insurance Contributions and review omitted billings refuted by participating KPPA employers; quality checks all calculations performed by staff within the branch; ensures members' initial retirement benefits include all service purchases; coordinates reciprocal benefits with the Judicial Retirement Plan (JRP), the Legislators’ Retirement Plan (LRP), and Teachers’ Retirement System of Kentucky; responds to general correspondence received through the mail; identifies system issues and logs appropriate reports; reviews and tests system enhancements; and coordinates and provides member outreach throughout the state.
