Legislative Updates

The 2025 Regular Session of the Kentucky General Assembly began on January 7. Part I lasts four days (through January 10). Following a three-week break, the General Assembly reconvenes for Part II on February 4. This is a 30-day session that concludes on March 28.

2025 Regular Session

KPPA is currently tracking multiple bills:

Key dates for the remainder of the session include:
  • March 13-14 Concurrence: These days are set aside for one chamber to consider, and potentially agree with, changes made by the other chamber to a bill. These days may also be used to bring final action to bills before the veto recess starts.
  • March 15-26 Veto Recess: The General Assembly will adjourn for the Veto Recess. The Veto Recess is a 10-day period, excluding Sundays, when the Governor can review legislation that has made it through the process.
  • March 27-28: Last two days of session. Legislators can consider overriding any vetoes the Governor made.
  • March 28 Sine Die: Legislative Day 30, General Assembly adjourns.
