Retired Members NOT Eligible for Medicare

Your coverage is provided through the Kentucky Employees Health Plan (KEHP), and the Administrator for Plan Year 2017 will be Anthem. KEHP is a self-insured health plan—meaning the KEHP determines your benefit plan designs, not a third party insurance company. A third party insurance company does however contract with the KEHP to administer the pharmacy plans and medical plans—for example they process claims and maintain a medical network.

Mandatory Enrollment

This is a MANDATORY ENROLLMENT: If you are currently covered on the KEHP plan and fail to file an application for 2017 you will be placed on the default plan (Standard PPO Plan).  If you currently waive coverage in the KEHP Plan you do not need to submit a waiver for Plan Year 2017.

If you are not currently covered under KRS insurance, you can submit an insurance application during open enrollment each year.

Remember: Medicare Eligible Insurance Information can be found on the KRS Humana Website Page

Retired Members Eligible for Medicare

Your Plan Administrator will not change. KRS will continue to partner with Humana to provide coverage for our members who are eligible for Medicare. This is a passive enrollment period for Fall 2016. You should still read all enrollment materials thoroughly to ensure you have selected the plan that best fits your needs.

If you are Medicare eligible and have returned to work, KRS may not be allowed to offer you coverage due to the MSP (Medicare Secondary Payer) requirement. You may take your health insurance coverage through your current employer. Please call Medicare and/or KRS if you have questions.
