Pamela F. Thompson is Managing Director and Senior Wealth Advisor at Mariner Wealth Advisors.

As a managing director, Ms. Thompson works with high-net-worth individuals, foundations, endowments and retirement plans. She holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation, and has experience in the review and analysis of equity and fixed income investments, both in the secondary market and on a direct-investment basis, having worked on mergers and acquisitions as well as asset-liability management within a large bank environment. She has experience at helping individuals transition to financial independence after life-altering events, such as the death of a spouse or divorce. She is a member of the CFA Institute as well as the CFA Societies of Louisville and Cincinnati.

Prior to joining Mariner Wealth Advisors, Ms. Thompson was vice president and a senior portfolio manager at Fifth Third Asset Management, where she was responsible for the investment relationships of institutional clients such as endowments, foundations and pension plans. She worked with the clients and their consultants on investment-related matters, conducted investment reviews and was involved in setting portfolio strategies to meet client objectives. Previously, Ms. Thompson was vice president and a portfolio manager at Commerce Bancshares in St. Louis, where she managed investment portfolios for both institutional and high-net-worth clients. She also served as the firm's financial-stock analyst for both the Value and Core equity strategies. Ms. Thompson spent 10 years at Commerce, working also in corporate credit analysis, mergers and acquisitions, and asset-liability management.

Ms. Thompson received a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a minor in Japanese studies from Washington University. She received a Master's of Business Administration degree in finance from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Ms. Thompson serves as a trustee on the boards of the Frazier History Museum (also board treasurer), Louisville Ballet (also board vice president) and the Cincinnati Ballet Foundation (also board treasurer). She was previously a member of the board of trustees for the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the Cincinnati Ballet. She also currently serves as a volunteer and Tocqueville Advisory Board member for the Metro United Way of Louisville.
