David Nix is the Director of the Retiree Payroll Division, which is responsible for maintaining all payees' benefit accounts throughout their retirement and ensuring the deadlines for each monthly and weekly supplemental payroll are met. The Division handles detailed changes to payees' benefits, overpayment recovery, and changes to federal tax withholding and direct deposit. Retiree Payroll also administers retiree court ordered deductions, IRS Levies, and the division of marital property.
Mr. Nix attended the University of Kentucky and spent 15 years in the private sector before joining KRS in November 2000.
He has served KRS in several different roles over the course of his career, beginning with three years as a Retirement Systems Counselor in the Retiree Call Center within the Division of Membership Support. In 2003 he transferred to the Division of Retiree Services (now known as Retiree Payroll) and was promoted to Retirement Program Manager in June 2006. Mr. Nix was named Division Director in 2014.
